Skyhouse is a 5 bedroom home, with four king bedrooms, and an additional four beds in a shared bunk room, there’s plenty of space for everyone to unwind comfortably. The 4.5 bathrooms, including a steam shower in the primary, and tub in the kids bathroom, make busy mornings easy and stress-free. The home includes a large kitchen, and 2 full living rooms with large TV's and wrap around windows. There is a gorgeous elevated patio with fire pit and grill, as well as a secluded hot tub on lower level patio.

A full description of the space:
ENTRY LEVEL: You enter the property from a covered carport with space for 2-4 vehicles depending on size. The entry level floor includes an open concept kitchen, dining, and living room as well as a half bathroom. The kitchen island has seating for 6, the dining table has seating for 8. The entry level living space includes a small fireplace and a large smart TV. There are two bedrooms on the entry floor; the primary bedroom with a king bed and an on-suite bathroom, the second bedroom has a king bed and an on-suite bathroom (both include walk in showers.) There are multiple sliding glass doors to access the patio and wrap around deck space.
LOWER LEVEL: The stairs to access the lower level are located directly next to the front door. Please be aware/cautious of stairs for babies and small children. The lower level includes a kids room with 2 bunk beds (4 total beds). One bunk has twin size beds, the other bunk has full size beds. There is a hall bathroom with duel sinks, a water closet and bathtub with shower. There is one bedroom with king size bed, and a second bedroom with a king size bed that includes an on-suite bathroom. Lower floor has a laundry room with double washer/dryers. The lower level also includes a large living space with couches and a smart TV. The sliding door on lower level has access to a small patio and private hot tub.

Skyhouse is located in a beautiful location that is close to town but feels remote!
The home is located approximately 9 miles, or 15 minutes, from downtown Durango.
The home is located approximately 19 miles, or 25 minutes, from the ski resort, Purgatory.
There is a small gourmet grocery store/liquor store less than 5 minutes away called PJ's, or a full sized grocery store, City Market, about 10 minutes drive towards town.
Durango Hot Springs is less than 5 minutes away!
IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
WINTER TRAVEL: If you plan to visit Skyhouse during the cold weather months, there is always the chance for snow and ice. Our neighborhood road is VERY steep with several tight switchbacks. If you're going to be here in cold weather, we STRONGLY recommend 4-wheel drive and/or tire chains. Please note that our neighborhood plow schedule can occur in a window between 6am- 11am. They do their best to get to it early for everyone to have easier access, but we cannot guarantee the exact time it will occur. Please make travel plans accordingly and be prepared for snowy driveways and roads in the winter and early spring!
FIRE DANGER: NO Fireworks, sparkers, charcoal grills or wood burning fires are allowed at the property. Please ONLY use our provided gas grill and fire-pit on the patio. Both are connected to the homes gas supply so will not run out. NEVER LEAVE GRILL OR FIRE-PIT UNATTENDED. Please use caution during fire bans, high fire risk, and on windy days. Please note that our fire-pit has a safety feature and will not operate when it is windy outside. Our property is smoking free. Please no smoking around open doors and windows. Please do not dispose of cigarettes in inside trashcan. Noticeable indoor smoke will result in additional fees.
PATIOS: Skyhouse's views are unparalleled because we are so high up in the sky! Railings on all decks and patios are provided for your protection. Please be mindful of the railing, no climbing, sitting, standing or roughhousing on or near railings.
HVAC: Skyhouse has central AC in the entry level (upstairs) ONLY. Please do not operate AC when outside temperature is below 50 degrees as this can damage the AC system. The heat is all in-floor heating, and each room has it's own thermostat for your comfort.
SEPTIC: Skyhouse is in the country so urban dwellers may not be accustomed to the use and care of a septic system. Food, trash, feminine products, objects and kitchen chemicals can clog the system and kill the beneficial bacteria in the septic, and trust us this can be very messy! Please help by taking care with what you and your family place in the toilets and sinks.
Please only flush toilet paper, and never use BLEACH or harsh chemicals for laundry, or in toilets or sinks.
PARKING: Parking is available for 5 standard vehicles, or maybe 6 if some of them are small. Three cars must park in the carport and the remaining cars directly behind the carport. Our property line ends just 25 feet beyond the carport towards the driveway, so please be sure all cars are parked on our property. There is a sign that designates our property line. PLEASE NOTE: there is NO additional parking available in the neighborhood or roads leading to the house.
PETS: allowed on a case by case basis WITH ADDITIONAL PET FEE. Our pet fee is $150 for the first pet, $75 for the second, with a two pet maximum. We ask all guests to follow our pet and service animal rules: -We ask that pets please not be allowed on any furniture
-All waste picked up after, bagged and disposed of in bins outside
-We ask that pets be supervised at all times and leashed when outside. Please note, our neighbors have cats that roam, as well as lots of wildlife in the area! Our property is unfenced.
-We strive to provide an exceptionally clean and allergen free space to all guests. If pets were allowed on furniture or bedding, or in the hot-tub, or if pet waste has to be picked up after you depart, additional cleaning fees WILL apply.
WILDLIFE ALERT! We have a variety of furry friends who come by on occasion, and some of them really enjoy our food. So it's important not to put food outside, even if it's in a trash bag. Any food left outdoors, or indoors accessible through an open door or window, could attract unwanted attention from wildlife. This includes bears and mountain lions!
TRASH: We provide one bear proof trashcan, and several overflow trash cans. We DO NOT recycle. All trash MUST be bagged, as it is hauled down to the dumpster at the entrance to the neighborhood. Therefore all trash that you put in the bins will be handled and loaded into someones car for removal! Please be kind.
QUIET HOURS: Our neighborhood is very quiet. The home is located high on a hill and excessive noise can carry to the neighbors. Please be mindful of noise between 10pm and 8am. No loud outdoor music please.
OCCUPANCY: We allow 12 total guests. We do not allow parties or events at the home. We do not allow additional visitors outside of the guests staying at the home. Please contact us with occupancy related questions or requests.
